ROLE
WEBSITE
For the municipality of Amsterdam I was asked to lead and organise a Design (Thinking / Sprint) team and process around the Schoolwijzer part of the city's website. At the Schoolwijzer, parents can find all schools, child daycare and after-school care organisations available near their home.
I was asked to organise a team of childcare specialists within the GGD to research the current situation of informationflow between child (day-) care owners, parents and the quality inspection department of the municipality (stakeholders).
Within our design process we were tasked to come up with a solution which better serviced all stakeholders. Meaning that:
-
parents could easily find and judge the quality of child (day) care orginisations
-
child (day) care organisations have a platform to express their identity and pedagogical taste
-
and the inspection department being able to offer the full extent their findings to parents in an accessible way
In the end the parents should have all the information they needed to find the right organisation for their child.
An interesting challenge to say the least. Especially because child (day-) care orgnisations and inspection sometimes have conflicting interests. The open attitude of the iterative design thinking/sprint flow really offered the right balance between empathy and effectiveness.
